Nanofiltration System

Nanofiltration System

A nanofiltration (NF) system is a water purification process that uses a semipermeable membrane with pore sizes of about 1–10 nanometers to remove contaminants. It is a pressure-driven process that removes divalent ions (like calcium and magnesium, which cause hardness), dissolved organic matter, pesticides, and microorganisms, while allowing smaller monovalent salts to pass through in limited quantities. NF systems are used for industrial water treatment, softening, and in the food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries.

Product Details

  • Water softening: Removes hardness-causing ions like calcium and magnesium, producing soft water.
  • Organic removal: Eliminates organic matter, including pesticides and color compounds.
  • Partial desalination: Reduces salt content in the water.
  • Disinfection: Eliminates bacteria, viruses, and other microbial contaminants.
  • Cost-effective: It is often more energy-efficient than reverse osmosis for specific applications and has low operating costs.
